As a part of the programme of human resource development in India towards participation in research with Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR) at Darmstadt, Germany, we are organizing an extended discussion meeting “Physics with FAIR: Indian perspective” at the Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre, Kolkata, during March 8 to 10, 2010. The scientific programme will consist of motivating and somewhat detailed presentations from experts in all four scientific pillars ( CBM, NUSTAR, PANDA, APPA) of FAIR. FAIR is an international science project, initiated and supported from science communities from Austria, China, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Italy, Romania, Russia, Slowenia, Spain and Sweden. A unique unprecedented infrastructure for nuclear, atomic, astrophysics and high density plasma physics will be constructed, opening new fields in research. |
